January 20, 2009 saw the inauguration of Barack Obama, the 44th president of the United States. The culmination of months of planning came together on the afternoon of September 27, 2008 with the glorious wedding of Sara Arnett and Chris Drew. Starting with an outdoor ceremony at the Stonebridge Ranch Country Club - followed by a reception and party in the beautiful clubhouse. The Samaritan Inn are a splendidly worthwhile cause, providing shelter and support for those less fortunate. Their constant striving to raise funds took us to the Heard-Craig Hall in picturesque Historic McKinney on Sunday September 7, 2008 where The Samaritan Inn and Tea 'n' Mystery held a thrift-store fashion show. Much tea was drunk, prizes were won and the delightful models displayed wonderful outfits available in the Friends of the Inn Thrift Center store at rock-bottom prices! Most folk living in the Dallas Metroplex have hear of Cheryl 'Action' Jackson - a veritable force of nature in charitable works and the drive to save money. She has her own charity, The Giving Movement, a boutique selling nearly new designer items, she has a spot on Good Morning Texas as 'The Sisters of Savings', and a food pantry opened in honor of her mother, Minnie Ewing that distributes food and supples free of charge to whoever is in need. A ribbon cutting saw the Plano Mayor, Pat Evans and a number of sponsors a the premises - including Christian Sculpher Photography. Lindsay Jones turned 16 on August - and Christian Sculpher Photography were there to capture the festivities and take portraits of all the guests AND print them out and frame them before the party finished. A new business in town, they carry a large variety of handmade clothing, bedding and accessories for babies and children.
